BLOG-Is it really that hard to be good?

Or do we make it hard to be good?

Why does humanity have such a hard time doing good deeds or walking away from evil conversation? We hear people in the Christian world say they struggle with sin over and over. Why is it so hard to choose to do the right thing? Is it really that difficult for a person to choose right from wrong? Or is it more that we are making it that way because there are certain lifestyles, people or places we want to live with, regardless of what it does to another person or ourselves?

If we study covenant, we will see over and over where God is saying if you abide in ME, my statutes, my laws, my will and will my ways THEN..... I will do ......He gives us all of these benefits.. excellent benefits!!! To do the right thing.....

Let us look at this from a worldly point of view: What if you were offered your dream job? This job also paid a salary that you never thought you could attain, life changing. This job comes with a set of rules and regulations you have to follow. They are contained in the employee manual. Are you going to argue or question any of those policies? Are you going to jeopardize this job by not reading and following the employee hand book? Or are you going to say yes, take that job and follow their rules?

Do you see where I'm going with this? We don't give it a second thought when the world asks us to follow their rules, do we?

Is it possible we have all been duped into a mindset of I can't make good choices? Or have we become so numb we don't even notice it's a problem anymore?

I know we could discuss the sin/flesh nature and struggles. But, I also think if we are honest, we may be looking for excuses not to raise a bar on ourselves.

God gives us grace to handle this so he does not have to.

1 Corinthians 11:31-32

31. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. 32. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Will you do a self inventory? Will you ask God to reveal the things that offend him?

Will you stop accepting your pre-programmed mindset that keeps you in failure?

End-

Well said. 100%, I agree, I cannot judge or hold unforgiveness if I want to walk righteously (as possible) b4 the LORD. The LORD gave me a message awhile back...it involved the study of covenant. I have some scripture/info out there to help. I am sure this group has plenty to offer all of us. God Bless you as well.

When I judge myself I can see that there's no room to judge anyone else. We don't have to wrestle with our sins but giving it to the One who can take them and choosing to let go of them because their in God's hands. When we continue in abiding in the Word of God we can find that it's the Holy Spirit in & around us through the Wisdom He gives when we ask for it that shapes our decision making.

I also have felt the Lord wanting me to study the meaning of Covenant for my relationship's sake with Him! And I'd love to hear more about covenant relationships through other Godly men and women. God bless everyone!
