prophets And prophecy

Greetings everyone, I was prompted to write a semi quick note concerning prophets and prophecy.

A warning and a bit of education.

Never allow prophecies to shake your faith in Jesus  Christ. Jesus is always 1st and foremost above everything else. Secondly the word of God. Always realize that even if someone gives a prophecy and they're super solid, sometimes God will change his mind due to prayers from his saints/people. Prophecies are for people to pray not against his judgment, but, more or less mercy, salvation or asking for a change in his mind set. There were instances when Moses and Abraham were able to influence God to change his mind when he was fuming about the people.  Here are a couple of supportng verses: Exodus 32:14. So the LORD changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.  Jonah 4:2 He prayed to the LORD and said, "Please LORD, was not this what I said while I was still in my own country? Therefore in order to forestall this I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, and one who relents concerning calamity.

Prophecies are also to warn Gods people. Amos 3:7 “Truly the Lord GOD will do nothing he has mentioned

without revealing his purposes to his servants the prophets."

Run from anyone who sets dates because God does not give dates or time frames.

Would you reveal your plans to your enemy? Think about it. God doesn't either.

As you hear them, pray first.  Does it resonate within your own spirit?  What does that mean?  It is a knowing within your own spirit, pre-filtered by the holy spirit within you.  Does it line up with the word of God?

Figure out where that fits within the big scheme of things.  Shelve them for a time, make a mental note and compare with others.

I would refer you to an excellent job well done:

Look for charactor and fruit production credibility.  This will develop over time. The fruit that is produced from their ministry, the company that they keep, which is very important to pay attention to, and do they apologize if they steer you wrong because they heard wrong? A good prophet will never wish to ever harm God's people in any way shape or form. A true prophet is a follower of Christ and they know what the punishment is should they do such a thing.

Also, recognize that prophets are people like you and I.  They put their pants or skirts on the same way you and I do.  They do not seek fame or fortune.  They look to deliver in obedience to the Father.  They just happen to have a measure of gifting or annointing in which God saw fit to give.  How? Either they asked for it in service to the king or it is something that God wanted them to have because he knew they would use it.

Mathew 10:16"Pay attention, now! I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as cunning as serpents and as innocent as doves.

Mathew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Acts 17:11These people were more receptive than those in Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive the message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if those things were so.

May God bless you❣
